Introduction (10 mins.) T shows two flashcards: one with an apple and one with a burger. T asks: “Which one is healthy?” “Which one is unhealthy?” T writes “An apple is healthier than a burger” on the board. T highlights the comparative form (-er ending) and gives mores examples (sweet-> sweeter, tasty-> tastier) “Candy is sweeter. Broccoli is healthier.”. Ss take notes. Development (20 mins.) T hands out a worksheet to each S and asks them to write the comparative form of a list of adjectives. Then, Ss decide if some sentences are true or false. T checks Ss’ answers with the whole class. Consolidation (15 mins.) Ss write sentences comparing foods using the adjectives given. T checks Ss’ answers and provide feedback. Conclusion (5 mins.) T provides any correction needed on Ss’ production and use of language. Homework: Draw two foods of their choice and write one sentence comparing them. Example: “Oranges are healthier than candy.” Introduction (5 mins.) T starts with a short discussion about fitness and healthy habits. T asks Ss “What do you do to stay healthy?”, “What is your favorite exercise?” and “Do you eat fruits and vegetables every day?” T elicits answers from Ss and write key vocabulary on the board. Then, T shows flashcards of people exercising, eating healthy food, or meditating. Ss take notes. Development (20 mins.) T explains to Ss the uses of future tense and gives examples. T asks Ss to repeat sentences after him/her. Ss take notes. Then, Ss complete some sentences using the future tense. T checks Ss’ answers and provides feedback. Consolidation (10 mins.) T asks Ss to create a basic fitness plan using will and going to. Ss draw a schedule from Monday to Sunday filling in each day with an activity. Conclusion (10 mins.) T asks Ss to share their schedule with the class. Homework: Complete a short gap-fill exercise where they choose between will and going to in sentences about fitness. |
