Introduction (5 mins.) T writes “Inclusion means everyone is welcome!” on the board. T explains the meaning using gestures and simple words. T elicits examples from Ss (e.g. “What do we do at school to make sure everyone can join?”) Development (20 mins.) T hands out a worksheet to each S and asks them to decide if some statements are about inclusive actions or not. After that, Ss complete some sentences choosing the correct adjective. T checks Ss’ answers with the whole class. Consolidation (20 mins.) T asks Ss to complete some sentences about inclusion using adjectives. T invites volunteers to share their work with the class. Homework: Ss draw a picture of an inclusive school and write one sentence about it (e.g., "Everyone is welcome in my school."). Introduction (10 mins.) T writes two columns on the board: Past and Present. T gives examples: Past: “Before, school did not have ramps for wheelchairs.” Present: “Now, schools have ramps for wheelchairs.” T elicits from Ss simple sentences using before/now. Development (25 mins.) T asks Ss to read a short conversation about how schools have become more inclusive over time. Then, read some statements and decide if they are true or false. Ss check their answers in pairs before feedback. Ss complete some sentences about how schools have changed with the words such as: before, now, has/have, more, better, improved. After that, Ss describe how their school have changed over the time to help all students learn. T checks Ss’ answers and provide feedback. Consolidation (10 mins.) T encourages Ss to compare past and present inclusion efforts making questions. Then, T allows Ss to share their ideas with simple opinions: “I think schools are better now because…” “We can help students by…” Past Questions: "Did all students go to school before?" "What challenges did some students face in the past?" "What was difficult for students who were deaf, blind, or used a wheelchair?" Present Questions: "What has changed in schools today?" "Do all students have equal opportunities now?" "How can we help classmates who are different from us?" Conclusion (5 mins.) T reviews key ideas from the discussion. T asks: “What is one thing you learned today?” |
