Session 1

Introduction (10 mins.)
First, T asks Ss what they know about fine arts. Then, T shows some flashcards of fine arts and elicits from Ss their names. After that, T hands out a worksheet to each S and asks them to label the images. Ss check their answers in pairs before feedback.
Development (20 mins.)
T asks Ss if they have any experience with art, and whether they have visited any museums or galleries before. T explains that in this lesson, they will learn about different types of fine arts, and some basic art vocabulary. 
Questions:
  1. Have you ever visited a museum or gallery of art before?
  2. What kind of artwork did you see during your visit?
  3. Did you have a favorite piece or artist from your visit to the museum or gallery?
 T shows Ss different pictures of famous artworks from various types of fine arts such as painting, sculpture, architecture, and photography. So, Ss discuss the characteristics of each type, and T asks Ss to describe what they see in each picture. 
T hands out a worksheet to each S and asks them to label some images about famous artworks.  After that, Ss complete some sentences using key vocabulary.
Consolidation (10 mins.)
Ss complete a short text about the topic. Ss share their answers with the class.
Conclusion (10 mins.)
T reviews key vocabulary words and concepts covered in the lesson. T conducts a quick quiz to assess Ss’ understanding.

 Answer: a) Canvas
Homework: Ss choose a piece of fine art to analyze, such as painting, sculpture, photograph, or any other form of fine art that they are interested in.
Ss research the artist and the context in which the artwork was created. Ss use basic art vocabulary to describe the artwork.
 
Bring clay, paint, or markers.

Session 2

Introduction (10 mins.)
T starts the lesson by asking Ss if they can define what is considered art. T writes their ideas on the board. Ss give examples of art. T asks Ss the following questions:
  • Do you like art? Why?
  • What do you think is the purpose of art?
  • What do you consider art? Give examples.
  • What is abstract art?
Development (20 mins.)
T shows some flashcards of various artworks and non-art objects and asks Ss to observe them carefully and classify them into two categories: art or not art. 
T provides Ss with a selection of materials, such as paint, markers, or clay, and asks them to create an artwork that represent their personal interpretation of what is art. T encourages Ss to experiment with different forms and techniques, and to express their thoughts and ideas creatively. 
​Consolidation (10 mins.)
T hands out a set of pictures of various artworks and non-art objects and asks Ss to observe them carefully and classify them into two categories: art or not art.  
After that, T asks Ss to discuss the following questions:
  1. Why did you classify the objects as art or not art?
  2. What are the characteristics that make an object considered art?
  3. Can everyday objects be considered art?
  4. Is art subjective or objective?
  5. Is there such a thing as "bad art"?
Conclusion (10 mins.)
T recaps the main ideas discussed in the class. Then, T asks Ss to share their final thoughts and opinions on the definition of art. T encourages Ss to continue exploring and developing their own understanding of art and what it means to them. 
Questions:
  1. What did you learn about your own interpretation of art through the activities?
  2. What surprised you about your classmates' interpretations of art?
  3. What are some of the challenges of defining what is art?
Homework: Write a short paragraph (approximately 30-50 words) explaining what you understand about art. Use simple language and try to express your thoughts clearly. You can write about what you like about art, what you think art is, or any thoughts you have after today's lesson.
