Introduction (10 mins.) T hangs some flashcards on the board to introduce school problems. T points out each flashcard one by one and elicits or teaches the vocabulary. T elicit from Ss the verbs in each image. Ss take notes. Development (20 mins.) T explains to the Ss what a school problem is and gives examples. Next, T reads aloud a list of problems and asks Ss to guess if they are school problems or not. List of problems:
Consolidation (10 mins.) T elictis from Ss a list of school problems. Then, Ss discuss and rank their school problems. Ss justify their answer orally. Conclusion (10 mins.) T provides any correction needed on Ss’ production and use of language. Homework: Solve a crossword about the topic. Introduction (10 mins.) T shows a picture of a school problem and asks Ss to describe what they see. T encourages Ss to use sentence such as: “I can see…”, “There is/are…” or “Students are…” T writes Ss’ responses on the board. Ss take notes. For example:
T hands out a worksheet to each pair of Ss and asks them to match some pictures with their descriptions. After that, Ss look at some pictures of school problems and complete the descriptions. T checks Ss’ answers and provides feedback. Consolidation (15 mins.) Ss look at some pictures of school problems and describe what they see. T invites volunteers to share their work in front of the class. Conclusion (10 mins.) Ss answer a short quiz. Homework: Explore your school and make observations to identify potential problems. Take notes and write a short description of the problem. |
