Content:
The linguistic diversity and its forms of expression in Mexico and the world.
​Learning development process:
Learners make use of the alphabet, numbers, and basic expressions in English to name and retrieve factual data and basic characteristics of recognized languages in Mexico and the world.
Problem:
​The lack of knowledge about the linguistic diversity of one's own country and others can lead to discrimination and cultural exclusion of those who speak minority or less common languages, which can result in the loss of cultural and social identity.
Project: Brochure.

Use a mind map to assess prior knowledge
These could be some  main branches:
  • Definition of linguistic diversity.
  • Benefits of language diversity (cognitive and economic benefits).
  • Languages spoken in the world.
  • Indigenous languages in Mexico.​
  • Endangered languages (causes and efforts to preserve them).
  • Challenges of language preservation.
Under each language, highlight its characteristics (vocabulary, grammar, writing systems, and pronunciation).

  2. In what ways do you believe linguistic diversity contributes positively to society, and how can it be leveraged to promote cultural understanding and inclusivity?
  3. Which languages do you think are in danger of extinction?
  4. Have you personally witnessed or experienced instances of discrimination or cultural exclusion based on language differences? 
  5. What are some challenges faced by linguistic minority groups in preserving their languages and cultural heritage? How can these challenges be addressed?
