Introduction (10 mins.) T shows some postcards from English speaking countries and asks Ss if they recognize any of the countries and their landmarks and encourage them to say the names out loud. Development (20 mins.) T hands out a map to each S and asks them to label some English-speaking countries. Then, T asks Ss to match the countries with their capitals. T hands out a worksheet to each S and asks them to match famous landmarks and monuments with the English-speaking countries. Consolidation (10 mins.) Ss complete a short passage about English-speaking countries. Conclusion (10 mins.) Ss answer a short quiz: 1. Which country is known for its iconic landmark, the Taj Mahal? a) Canada b) India c) Australia 2. Where can you find the Statue of Liberty? a) Singapore b) South Africa c) USA 3. What is the capital city of the United States? a) New York b) Washington, D.C. c) Los Angeles 4. What type of music is commonly associated with Jamaica? a) Classical b) Reggae c) Jazz 5. In which city would you find the Big Ben? a) London b) Canada c) India Homework: Color flags from different English-speaking countries. Introduction (10 mins.) T writes the word “Culture” on the board and asks Ss if they know what it means. T elicits ideas and explanations from the class. Development (20 mins.) T hands out a worksheet to each S and asks them to label nine aspects of culture. Then, Ss match aspects of culture with cultural practices. Consolidation (10 mins.) T reads aloud some true/false statements about some cultural practices in English-speaking countries and asks Ss if they are true or false. Conclusion (10 mins.)
