Final product: Acting out a dialogue
STEP 1 - ​Choose one community service for your product
Services: Donate food, adopt unwanted dogs, clean up a local park, raise money for Red Cross, participate in recycling program, plant trees, donate blood , organize wheelchair basketball game, donate clothes, feed elderly people, help elderly people, donate old toys, etc.
STEP 2 - ​Write the main ideas for your dialogue
Consider:
  • Description of the service and audience.
  • Information necessary for a person who wants to participate.
  • Opinions of the service.
STEP 3 - ​Write down questions and answers
Can you help me? -Of course.
What can I for you? -I would like to work in a community service.
What exactly are you interested in? -I love working with animals.
Have you done any volunteer work before? -Yes, I worked at the animal shelter last year.
Can you work on weekends? -Only on Saturday mornings.
When can you start? -Next Saturday.
STEP 4 - Assign roles and write your dialogue
  • Check the dialogues we have developed during this unit.
  • Determine if the conversation is formal or informal.
  • Check notes and ask teacher for help.
STEP 5 - Practice the dialogue
  • Practice the dialogue as many times as necessary.
  • Remember to use body language and watch out intonation and voice volume. 
  • Find the proper clothes and objects you may need to act-out the dialogue.
STEP 6 - Present the dialogue
  • Act-out your the dialogue in front of the class.
